Australian Civil Society Support Program

Background
The Australian Civil Society Support Program (ACSSP) currently provides grants to 29 local Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to implement a range of projects including:
• income-generating activities (e.g. small business skills and training);
• promoting gender equality;
• improved access to basic services (e.g. education, reproductive health and consumer awareness); and
• promoting civic education and human rights and anti-corruption awareness.

Current Status:
In September 2009, the program undertook an independent program review, which has input from a number of civil organisations in Fiji. As a result of the 2009 review findings and recommendations, the civil society initiative for the Fiji Program is undergoing redesign. It is anticipated that the redesign will be completed by November 2010.

Due to the program redesign, the program will not be accepting any funding requests till further notice.
