You can apply for a postal vote online by visiting the website. An online application can also be made on behalf of another person with their authorisation.
The deadline to apply for a postal vote is 5pm Canberra time (7pm local) on Friday 12 October.
The postal vote forms will be mailed to you and to be counted, must be posted no later than Saturday 20 October and reach the ACT Electoral Commission by 26 October.
If you have not already, you should register as an overseas elector with the Australian Electoral Commission so that you will not receive a letter after the election seeking an explanation for not voting. You can register for this online at www.aec.gov.au
