SECOND DEATH THREAT RECEIVED BY AUSTRALIAN HIGH COMMISSION


On 15 May the Australian High Commission received a second death threat. The threat came in a letter through the mail.

The High Commission immediately contacted the Police, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Civil Aviation.

The High Commission is reviewing current security arrangements and will be restricting access to the High Commission forthwith.

During the course of the day the High Commission will be seeking urgent high level discussions with the Fiji authorities on the two threats received in the past week.
