Processing Time

The processing time for complete Business Short Stay Visa applications lodged at our office in Nauru is 15 days. If your application does not contain all the required documents as per the checkist below, it is likely that processing will take longer.

Eligibility

To be granted a Business Short Stay Visa, you must have a genuine business reason to visit Australia. The documents you provide will help us to determine your legal eligibility for a visa. You must therefore submit all the documents in the checklist below applicable to you when you lodge your application. Provision of documents does not in any way guarantee the grant of a visa.

Checklist

Business Short Stay Visa Cover Sheet;

• Application for a Business (Short Stay) visa (for a stay of up to 3 months) fully completed and signed by you;

Family Composition Sheet fully completed;

• Application fee payable by cash only (fee $105);

• Your current passport;

• 1 current passport-size photograph of you;

• An invitation letter from inviting business organisation or business contact in Australia, outlining the purpose of the visit and including an itinerary of planned activities.

Evidence of your employment/business situation:

• If you are employed, a letter from your employer confirming your employment duration and position, your salary, your employer’s direct contact details, and the purpose of your intended travel and planned business activities in Australia; or

• If you are self-employed, evidence that your business is actively operating, such as financial statements and that you are drawing an income from it, and a letter describing the purpose of your intended travel and planned business activities in Australia.

If it has been at least 5 years since you last applied:

• Your full Birth Certificate; and

• Evidence of your marital status (eg. Marriage Certificate, Divorce Certificate); and

• Evidence of funds. For example, if you have a bank account, bank statements covering a 3 month period.

If the application includes an applicant under 18 years old:

• if a parent is not travelling, the non-accompanying parent must complete Form 1229 - Consent form to grant an Australian visa to a child under the age of 18 years and attach a copy of their identification document as per the instructions on the Form 1229;

If you are over 70 years old:

• an additional passport-size photograph for a health examination, and, if you are 75 years old or over, evidence that you have purchased travel insurance covering your intended period of stay in Australia;

If you wish to authorise another person to communicate with us on your behalf:

• a completed and signed Form 956 - Appointment of migration agent or exempt agent or other authorised recipient. The authorised person will need to provide photographic identification when making collections.
