Taimi Ngāue ki ho’o Visá: ‘Aho ‘e 15 (kapau kuo ke fakakakato mai ‘a e fakamatala kotoa ‘oku mau kole atu ke fakahū maí).

Please note: each applicant in a group is assessed separately on their individual merits. Each group must therefore submit all the documents in the checklist below. You may provide either certified copies or original documents. Original documents will be returned to you.

What the Group Needs to Provide to Us

From the trip organiser in Tonga: a letter on official letterhead with description of purpose of trip, itinerary, full list of group members (names and dates of birth), contact details of trip organiser;

From supporting organisation in Australia: a letter on official letterhead with full list of group members, description of trip and level of support to be provided, and contact details.

From either the trip organiser or the supporting organisation: a statement in relation to who is covering the costs of the trip (if not being covered by each group member), evidence of the available funds (eg. bank statement) if not a known/recognised organisation, and contact details.

What Each Group Member Needs to Provide to Us

Tonga Visitor Visa Checklist (Groups);

Form 48R Application for general tourists to visit Australia for tourism or other recreational activities, fully completed and signed by the applicant;

• Visa Application Charge TOP$163, payable by cash or bank cheque;

• Current passport;

• 1 current passport-size photograph of the applicant;

Family Composition Form, fully completed;

Evidence of applicant’s financial/employment situation:

• If applicant has a bank account, bank statements covering a 3 month period; and

• If applicant is employed, a letter from employer confirming employment duration and position, wage/salary, employer’s direct contact details, and approval of leave covering the period of applicant’s intended travel; or

• If applicant is self-employed, evidence that applicant’s business is actively operating, such as financial statements; evidence he/she a market vendor (from town council) or receipts or lease contracts evidencing his/her farming activities; or

• If applicant is not employed or unable to provide evidence of employment, a statement regarding applicant’s personal and financial situation signed by a local government or community leader, including their position and direct contact details;

If it has been at least 5 years since the applicant last applied, his/her full Birth Certificate; and evidence of his/her marital status (eg. Marriage Certificate, Divorce Certificate);

If applicant is under 18 years old, completed Form 1229 - Consent form to grant an Australian visa to a child under the age of 18 years and a copy of parent’s/guardian’s identification bearing their signature;

If applicant is over 70 years old, a passport-size photograph for a health examination. If over 75 years old, evidence that travel insurance has been purchased covering intended period of stay in Australia is also required (but only after you are requested by us to do so);

If applicant wishes to authorise another person to communicate with us on his/her behalf, a completed and signed Form 956 - Appointment of migration agent or exempt agent or other authorised recipient.
